Privately, Hester provides high quality one-to-one coaching for individuals wishing to establish more positive ways of living their lives.Through the use of powerful NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) techniques, Hester assists her clients in dealing with the underlying causes of existing unhelpful behaviours, establishing empowering new behaviours and setting attainable and sustainable goals for the future. Hester works one-to-one with both adults and children.
Hester is also a well known motivational speaker and regularly delivers talks to parents on how to build sound self-esteem, teach our children how to win friends and influence people and build our childrens' resilience. These talks provide parents with positive and effective strategies to boost their child's confidence, social skills and independence. Each of these talks are held once a term during the evening at Neville Hall, Waltham St Lawrence and are also delivered throughout the year to schools across London and South East England. In addition, Hester also regularly delivers bespoke interactive and empowering workshops and talks for teaching staff on INSET days.

Effective Steps is run by Hester Bancroft, who has a first class degree in Psychology (BSc hons), is a Master Practitioner of NLP, a member of the British Psychological Society (MBPsS) and mother of three. Hester is also currently undertaking doctoral studies with the world renowned Metanoia Institute in London (DCPsych). Hester has extensive experience working with adults and children both privately and in the state sector for the charity Mind. Effective Steps is the service provider for the National Pyramid Scheme in the Bracknell Forest area. Through this scheme Hester and her team work in 20 schools directly with children who have been identified as having low self-esteem, allowing them to explore different issues, increase their social skills and gain much needed confidence and resilience.
